High-five!

Superman’s costume is very iconic. It’s changed a lot since he was first drawn but one can say that his look has been refined to a point where he is very recognizable and any deviation is going to be criticized. That’s where we’re at now with the new behind-the-scenes movie marketing and the relaunch of the comic series. The idea is to modernize the costume in order to appeal to the average man-on-the-street the way the X-Men movie costumes took the characters out of the cliche spandex and put them into leather motorcycle suits.

When you have an alien from the planet Krypton, how do you design an out-of-this-world kick-butt costume? The answer is, “get rid of the short pants and give him some shoulder armour.”

Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

I love getting fan art. It’s wonderful to see that someone has dedicated their time and effort out of their busy schedule and made something special. If you’d like to submit some Legendary Woodsman art, please contact me.
